Yoga Roots recently hosted a 21 day cleanse, based on the book The Quantum Wellness Cleanse by Kathy Freston. A group of us embarked on a culinary adventure that included giving up the dirty five: caffeine, alcohol, animal products, gluten, and sugar. While I am back to some of my non-cleanse faves (such as my morning cup of jo’), I find myself drawn to cleanse-friendly recipes too. Last night I have to say I knocked it out of the park with vegan gluten-free stuffed peppers. The recipe came from the Minimalist Baker (recipe in the link), a great food blog my niece turned me on to.
Not bad for a Sunday dinner (that’s my daughter’s veggie burger in the background)!
YR will be repeating the cleanse sometime in the near future, so stay tuned if this kind of thing floats your boat.
