Shoulder and Knee Injuries – Yoga Practice Modifications
June 18, 2016 @ 1:15 pm - 3:15 pm
$25$25
A WORKSHOP FOR AFFLICTED STUDENTS AS WELL AS YOGA INSTRUCTORS
Almost every day we have students at Yoga Roots seek guidance on how to manage their yoga practice while dealing with limitations caused by shoulder and knee pain. Join Kim Curtis as she provides expert guidance on modifying a yoga practice to address knee/shoulder injuries. Kim will break down poses by defining the anatomical impacts and available changes to allow yoga to be a constant in one’s life despite past injuries, surgeries and/or strains.
KIM IS BOTH PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED AS WELL AS A LIVING LESSON
Kim brings both her own experiences dealing with extensive injuries sustained outside of yoga as well as a multi-decade coaching career where she worked with recovering/injured athletes until they were able to return to a high level of competition. Just this past year, Kim suffered a significant knee injury and had to borrow from her training to “manage” her yoga practice. In addition, Kim has had to modify to address a torn rotator cuff. In short, she has personally worked through multiple yoga challenges drawing from her training to safely modify and enjoy yoga.
Use this Workshop as a means of understanding your options and enjoy a long, healthy yoga practice!
